West Virginia has legalized medical marijuana but unfortunately has not legalized recreational cannabis yet. Small amounts are a misdemeanor crime. There are several ongoing movements to change this, with the most prominent led by NORML. NORML does good work and is making progress in WV.
Medical marijuana in West Virginia
Medical marijuana has been legal since 2017. There were numerous failed attempts before this, almost one per year since 2013. You must admire the fighting spirit of WV citizens and the refusal to quit. In 2017 Senate bill 386 passed, finally allowing medical cannabis. Specific chronic conditions were covered and there are motions to expand the list. However, it took until July 2020 before dispensaries were allowed to sell medical marijuana.
What seeds to grow in West Virginia?
Medical and CBD strains are allowed, therefore we recommend one of our CBD strains. A personal favorite is CBD Kush, an autoflower feminized strain. It has a 1:1 THC:CBD ratio and is the perfect strain for during the day. It provides good feelings, a state of relaxation, a small energy boost and stimulates creativity. Since it is an autoflower, it will grow to around 3 feet in height. Perfect for a stealthy or limited space grow. The light cycle is simplified and stays on a constant 18-6 cycle.
