Choosing the right seeds for you?
Coastal Mary carries a variety of seeds. We try to cover the main types and provide a growing list of favourites. Choosing the correct Sativa or Indica strain for your needs can be daunting. Do I want it for during the day? Is this for before bed? Do I want a mix for when I can’t decide?
For beginner growers, we recommend autoflowering strains. These are non-photoperiod plants and as the name suggests, flower automatically. They are also relatively easy to grow and highly resilient. Resilient in that they can take a few mistakes when growing.
On average, Autoflowers take about 12 weeks to go from seed to harvest. The plant tends to grow small in height and with a smaller yield. Don’t have much space to grow? They are perfect for you.
One of the best autoflowers for New Brunswick is Bruce Banner. You’ve probably already heard of this strain and if you grow it, you’ll know why.
For higher levels of CBD or THC, we recommend our feminised seeds. These are photoperiod plants and require more care and flowering time and produce a much higher yield of bud. They usually take 4-6 weeks in the vegging phase and then 8-12 weeks in flowering.
A good choice of feminized seeds in NB is Sour Lemon. A refreshingly citrus tasting plant and with the benefits of a sativa.
The medical benefits of Cannabis?
Medical cannabis can be used for pain management and helps alleviate many different types of health conditions. Problems like rheumatoid arthritis and osteoarthritis, which cause inflammation, stiffness and be very painful.
Cannabidiol (More commonly known as CBD) and Delta 9-tetrahydrocannabinol (Best known as THC) can be found in the flowering buds of the female cannabis plant.
CBD and THC act on cannabinoid receptors in the body and when these receptors are activated, inflammatory and pain responses are reduced.
